Car Preparation

  1.  All glass and chrome striping must be removed prior to entry on grounds.  All glass and loose items must be removed from car including trunk and door panels.
  2. Doors must be welded shut or chained with a minimum 5/16” chain.
  3. Hoods must be chained down with a minimum 5/16” chain.  Chain may go around bumper but not around any part of frame or 4 – 1” x ¼” straps to bumper.
  4. Trunk lid must be welded shut.  Trunk may have a chain going through trunk lid and around bumper but not around any parts of frame.
  5. Gas tanks must be removed.  Gas tanks must be in the rear seat compartment and fastened securely.  Gas tank size is a maximum of 6 gallons.  For safety a metal tank is recommended.
  6. Batteries must be moved to front seat compartment and fastened securely.  We recommended that batteries be covered for driver safety.
  7. No iron or reinforcement may be added to car except on driver’s door, limited to 12” past edge of door.
  8. Radiator must be left in place and no other water supply or additional fans may be used.  Radiators must be flushed and filled with water only before arrival.
  9. Holes must be cut in hood, large enough for fire extinguisher.
  10. No modiciation of car suspension allowed.  No A-frame welding included.
  11. Holes must be left or cut in trunk or rear seat baffle large enough for inspection of entire trunk.
  12. No oil coolers on roof.
  13. No frame coatings.
  14. Required large number on roof car at least 12” block.
  15.  4 – 1” All thread in trunk and hood in lieu of welding.
